Most difficult tank?
I was having a conversation with some friends last night and was curious which tank do you think is the most difficult to play?

Chaz told me that Rammus is rather easy to play but he's more of an aggressive champion.

Shen is slightly more skill-wise because of his skillshot taunt and timing your ult so the ally doesn't die before United goes off.

I recently got Shen because I really need to learn how to tank and I know he's more difficult but I like the fact he's an energy champion and his ult is global.

RE: Most difficult tank?
hmm... Where to start... V
In my opinion there is no real difficulty in tanking. There is only difficulty in being an as potent a tank as possible.

Since I haven't done much tanking lately I can't tell much useful if there are recent changes to said champ, but in most cases the champ is easy to play and only things such as timing and focus firing the right person are the difficulty. Obviously this is just my opinion on it.

If I were to put a label on a tank that I consider hardest to play in general; I think I'd go for Galio or Singed; since the right or wrong use of abilities such as Galio's ult and Singed's Fling can make or break a team-fight... so you can easily screw things up. Also tanks such as Gragas (if you consider it a tank) and Alistar would apply to this way of thinking.

Alistar I'd say would be more of an off tank as you can have him dish out quite a lot of damage and same would go for Gragas.

Though with Alistar's new changes a lot have found him even a slight bit if not quite a bit OP because of all the knock up and knock backs he can do now.

... He's always been able to do the knock-ups and knock-backs.
And I don't see how Alistar is being called OP by anyone... his pinnacle skill Pulverize (the AOE knock-up stun skill) even has been nerfed quite a bit (with the exception of the range and early-game cd) and his passive became slightly less useless... that's pretty much all that changed.

My guess is that there are just some good Alistar players out there that give the impression he's OP

No, not really. Actually it's the other way around. The new changes made him much better and easier to use his knock up and aways.

OK, I can agree on the easier to use hit his knock-up part.
But i remain skeptical about the becoming better part.

They gave him more MP, reduced the CD (I think?), and gave him a passive which can be quite good as you can use a skill and run into enemies in the middle of minions and slam 'em. You can pretty much hit anyone whether their among minions or not.

Played a few games as Shen and wasn't too bad but timing that ult is tricky.

RE: Most difficult tank?
They made him faster too and only early-game CD's are shorter, however the level 4+5 cd's on both Q and W were nerfed a sec each level. You could say the Cooldown became the same as the pre-patch level 3 ability on every level (so it's 15 at all levels now instead of 17/16/15/14/13) so yeah... with the exception of the ghostwalk you get for 2 seconds(?) after casting a spell, the buffs and nerfs are so minimum that it doesn't really matter all that much... Ohdear

I dunno if you tried it yet, but if not, try jungle Shen. Once you get how to jungle properly with him your team will love you with the map-wide utility and all Smile
and I know what you mean; Sometimes you have teammates that are incredibly lucky and get away with 10 health or something in the end and wasting your ultimate has quite a punishing result in the form of a lengthy cd. In previous experiences I had plenty of times that I actually ulted someone while he ran away with 25 health or so and dodged all abilities thrown at him by flashing (that still made you dodge projectiles back then) and just outmaneuver the enemy skillshots while my ult was on him, thus making it a potential waste... it made me feel... silly Sad

I must say; I enjoy discussing these kind of things Dumb

(did not read the above posts)

Singed. So much mouse-clicking !

You have to know when to engage, and after that know how to execute skills properly and timely.

May not be the hardest, but he's up there on the difficulty scale.

What? How is that different from any other champ.
I still build singed as an off tank. I feel like when he's built full tank he's really useless.

As for hardest tank I really don't know. Galio maybe.
