Impressions of dominion
So after playing a fair bit of dominion yesterday on both the NA and EU server...I can safely say...I dislike it.

First problem is champion balance. This was an inevitable problem as champions are and always will be balanced for 5v5 summoners rift. Most fights on here are 3v3 at the biggest. Tanky DPS are everpresent and always dominate, especially the more mobile ones (Lee sin, Udyr and that god damn singed) The other popular picks are those with insane early game burst. I'm looking at you Leblanc and akali. They are the reason you need to pick a tanky DPS as leblanc or akali will destroy anything else. Like I said, I didn't expect it to be balanced but a group of tanky d(er)ps running around hitting each other with blunt weapons doing nothing...is not really fun.

The other type of game you get is a team picking all fast champs, boots of mobility running around and suicide capturing points. This is even less fun. In fact it's plain retarded. I played Rammus with boots of mobilty/ghost/an item that gives you a 2 seconds boost to speed. I could go from one side of the map to the other in seconds. There was nothing they could do to stop it.

For the first few games I loved it. But that's because people weren't using all tanky DPS or mobility champs. It was fast paced and fun fighting. Maybe a draft mode would be better as you could ban some of the worst offenders..but even then it'd still suffer to some extent. Like if you ban Rammus, somebody would instead take yi to just capture points.

The "quests" they added were plain pointless. It's just "capture point x" and the buffs in the middle are...lacklustre.

Informative rant over.

Edit: Okay, it's somewhat better when playing it with a premade.

I think it's a bit too early to start judging champion balance - I've won a few times vs. tanky DPS teams.

Honestly, it's not as fun as I thought it'd be. I'm not sure exactly why yet, but as of now I prefer Summoner's Rift. I'll have to play a few more games to get a good feel for it though.

Well burst champions also work really well, yes I'm looking at you Leblanc/akali.

Although once again the tanky champions are the best way to stop them T_T.

I think its too short it needs to be harder. I feel like i never reach level 18 when i play because the game is over.

For Example:

People have to be coordinated with their choice to win that fast. obv. premade, or planned in champ select.
It's fast paced. Makes playing nidalee a lot more fun, & other healers.
You got a lot more to pay attention too.

I gotta say that Dominion has a great feel to it, it's dominating over others, making a coordinated team vs a pug result in that video, however if the players are equal in skill/luck it tends to drag on to the max.
Those games are (imo) the most fun obviously.

I saw London, I saw France, hell I even saw Cho'gath dance.

Oh no, don't mind me, I'm just stacking aura's here, go on and hit the tank ^^'.

1600 games in and still sucking a tennis-ball through a garden hose.

It is... interesting. But the idea of Shaco's doll box rapidly drop my health bar as Ryze in three seconds is plainly ridicilous. I love the map but I don't like how fast people can inflict damage on others.

Yeah, every fight seems to be over in half a second unless one or both of you is tank derps increasing the fight time to about 2 seconds.

I thought it would be more fun at first, but I think the quickness of games and the lack of communication I usually get in games makes it mehhh... I prefer Summoners Rift as it is still my favorite, but this is always fun if you want a quick game.

RE: Impressions of dominion
I've always noticed that domin brings out my rage more than SR.

I'm normally a pretty calm player on SR until I get that team which is completely clueless and acts like they're amazing...but every game I play of dominion that I lose, I'm raging. Possibly due to the fact we lose said games as nobody defends our top point and instead tries to cap their point with a Rammus and singed sitting on top of it.
